Major Headlines

UNICEF Blockchain Investments

Global organizations around the world are turning to blockchain technology to solve border payment issues and supply chain management advancements. This has been especially prevalent with non-profits that have less rigid constraints to their business models. UNICEF has announced a total of $100,000 funding dedicated to six blockchain startups. This is an additional amount through their dedicated innovation fund of 20 other tech firms the non-profit has already helped. The six startups are Atix Labs and Onesmart (platforms for tracking finances), Prescrypto (platform to track patient histories), Statwig (vaccine delivery with a supply chain platform), Utopixar (social collaboration tool), and W3 Engineers (offline networking system). “Blockchain technology is still at an early stage – and there is a great deal of experimentation, failure, and learning ahead of us as we see how, and where, we can use this technology to create a better world.” - UNICEF Innovation principal advisor Chris Fabian

HTC Phone Has Brave Built In

As data theft has become a major issue from mobile devices, HTC is leveraging this as marketing tool as well as for its services. The Exodus 1 is one of the world’s first dedicated blockchain smartphones, and will only be able to be purchased using cryptocurrencies.
